Eyeshadow Placement for Eye Shape
Why Eye Shape Matters
The same technique looks different on every eye shape. Adapting placement to your shape maximizes the effect.
Hooded Eyes
Apply shadow above the visible crease so it shows when eyes are open. Keep lid color light.
Monolid Eyes
Gradient placement: darkest at lash line, lighter upward. Extend above where crease would be.
Almond Eyes
Most techniques work. Classic outer-V placement emphasizes natural shape. Shimmer on lid center.
Round Eyes
Concentrate darker shadow on outer third, extend past corner. Avoid shimmer on lid center.
Deep-Set Eyes
Keep shadow light on lid. Avoid dark crease colors. Shimmer on brow bone brings area forward.
